Dot Bardarson

|
Dot likes to stretch your
imagination with shapes and movement bigger than life. Her Northwest themes are
exuberant, with colorful, well-balanced design and a willingness to take risks.
As a well known Alaskan of award winning watercolors and public art commissions,
she has also been art juror, artist in residence, amateur theater set designer,
and past board member of the Alaskan State Council on the Arts. Dot's early
career included deck-handing on a work boat and raising her family in remote
fish canneries.
Being born in New York and raised on the East Coast hardly prepared her for her
early adult life as a deck-hand on a fish tender or raising her family in Alaska
canneries. She lives in Seward and is the former owner of Bardarson
Studio, an art and fine craft gallery in Seward, Alaska.
Dot was the Master Artist for the 2007 Seward mural
showing Exit Glacier in its prime. It measures 52 feet wide by 20 feet high. |
