Northwest artist, Jeanne Engesath
specializes in painting landscapes and animals in oils and acrylics. Fifteen
years of living in Alaska have given Jeanne a real love for the wildlife of the
far north. Jeanne now resides in Port Angeles, Washington. Since joining the
Port Angeles community, she has found an interest in the local wildlife, as well
as the farm animals and local scenery of the area. The beauty of this part, the
rugged Washington coastline, and picturesque farms in the area provide endless
inspiration for new work. Though she has had some formal art education, Jeanne
has gathered most of her knowledge through self-study and through attendance at
workshops with some of the nation's foremost wildlife and landscape artists. She
enjoys the challenge of working with different mediums, trying new subjects and
gathering information for paintings.
Jeanne and husband Vern, a retired
fireman, live on 4 1/2 acres outside of Port Angeles where they enjoy trail
riding up in the mountains and raising German Shepherd dogs.
Jeanne's artwork has
won numerous regional awards in Alaska and Washington and is in private
collections throughout the country. She has also worked as a freelance
illustrator for the Northwest Interpretive Center at Olympic National Park.
