Angela
Orman Hansen

|
Angela Orman Hansen was born in Nome, Alaska in 1976 to Paul and Delores Orman
and lived there until the age of nine. She moved with her parents and sister to
their family farm in Nebraska. Angela has always enjoyed art. When she attended
McCook Community College she met an extraordinary art teacher, Don Dernovich. He
became her mentor and equipped her with skills in watercolor and other media.
During college, she became reacquainted with Peter Hansen, a childhood friend
from Nome. They were married and together have made their home in Alaska. Angela
continued college at the University of Alaska Northwest Campus in Nome and
graduated with an Elementary Education degree in 2001.
Peter and Angela have three precious children, two sons, Gareth and Luke and
daughter, Clara. Angela has taught art in the public schools and currently
instructs private lessons for children and adults in her art studio. She has
also started her own business called Angela's Art and Frame which provides Nome
and surrounding villages with framing service and art supplies.
Angela has been instrumental in coordinating the Annual Iditarod Fine Art Show
and has won awards for her artwork. Through her work she hopes to share the
beauty of the countryside, flowers, animals, berries, people and historical
sites of Nome and Northwest Alaska. Above all, she gives the Lord God thanks,
praise and glory for the talents, opportunities and family with which she has
been richly blessed. |
