Marilyn Lee

|
Born and raised in Oregon,
Marilyn Lee has also lived and painted in
Washington,
British Columbia,
and for the last 25 years,
Ketchikan,
Alaska.
She loves island living and has worked on the water in commercial fishing and on
the Alaska
ferry system. For Marilyn, watercolor is the perfect medium for the ephemeral
mists and colors of the land and seascapes of
Southeast Alaska.
Even though painting in
Alaska
presents serious challenges, such as unpredictable weather and fierce insects,
Marilyn’s best painting experiences happen outdoors, getting lost in the process
of expressing what she sees and loves about this wondrous part of the world she
calls home.
