Alice Tersteeg

Alice Slattery Tersteeg has a
variety of original prints - etchings, screen prints, and relief prints of wildlife, landscapes, and
florals, distributed by Taku Graphics. She has also released 5x7 art cards from pastel
paintings.
Alice Slattery Tersteeg, Professor of Art at
University of Alaska Southeast, turned to studies of Alaskan wildlife and habitats since her arrival
in Alaska in 1973. She has interpreted wildlife in many media, including oils, watercolors,
serigraphs, etchings, relief prints, pastels, and various technique combinations. Her works
have been shown in prominent galleries and museums throughout the Pacific rim, including Seattle,
Juneau, Anchorage, and Japan.
Tersteeg received her first Masters degree in Art
from California State University, Chico. Her Master of Fine Arts degree is from Syracuse
University
Recent awards and special recognitions
include: People's Choice Award, Award of Excellence, and Featured Artist in Audubon Juried
Exhibits, several Alaska State Council on the Arts Purchase Awards, and Alaska Historical and Fine
Arts Museum Purchase Award. |
