Karen Weber

|
Midwestern by birth, Karen Weber moved to Sitka,
Alaska, and promptly lost her heart to the haunting islands of the Pacific
Northwest. Fascinated by aquatic and coastal animals and local cultures, she
finds diverse ways to express her awe for islanders' treasured art forms.
Secretly, she once dreamed of sailing around the world, until she found out that
"pirate" was no longer an acceptable job description. Now she conducts a
never-ending search for her own idea of treasure.
Karen has
recently relocated to Lummi Island in Washington state but still visits the misty isles of southeast
Alaska where she lived for many years.
Contrasting cultures, scenery, and wildlife provide a wide
variety of subjects for her characteristically light-hearted art.
