Woolly Mammoth Ivory is found in the permafrost in the flatlands of Alaska and the Yukon.  The Mammoth became extinct 14,000-50,000 years ago.  Fossil ivory is unique in that it does not endanger our present environment, and exists as a witness to prehistoric times.
